Collective Elevation has long supported the conservation of our environmental resources in our home state of Montana. We use sustainable, environmentally friendly growing and manufacturing practices, including using the power of natural sunlight, biointegrated organic living soil, energy efficient lights, organic pest management (including beneficial insects), organic fertilizers, and water conservation systems.
When we’re not working at our Bozeman, MT farm and manufacturing facility, we’re out enjoying Montana’s mountains, rivers, lakes, and wildlife. And we’re committed to helping protect these natural resources—not only for our own enjoyment—but also for the future of our children and generations to come.
As part of our commitment to conservation and advocating for environmental protections, we’ve partnered with Cottonwood Environmental Law Center, a local Bozeman organization that’s had a huge impact in our home state in the area of conservation. Cottonwood takes a hands-on approach and files non-partisan suits that take on some of the largest and wealthiest luxury resorts in Montana, as well as promoting public land access and wildlife protections. Cottonwood’s stated mission is “protecting the people, forests, waters and wildlife of the American West, and having fun while doing it." Their accomplishments include:
- Stopping a $550 million dollar coal railroad from being built
- Protecting 750 acres of lynx and grizzly habitat from logging in Lewis and Clark National Forest
- Protecting 400,000 acres of lynx habitat from logging near Yellowstone
-Helping to get wolverines protection as threatened species under the Endangered Species Act
-Protecting over 40 streams and rivers from pollution
-Leading the charge in stopping water pollution from treated sewage in the Yellowstone Club, Spanish Peaks and Big Sky
-Protecting Montana's constitution and restoring citizen voter power
-Reversing HB 407, allowing citizens to regulate single use plastics, and we are leading the charge in helping cities across Montana start their initiatives to ban single use plastics.
In an effort to support Cottonwood’s important work, we’ve created a new cannabis strain, Cottonwood Chronic, and are donating proceeds from the sale of this strain to their organization. Cottonwood Chronic flower is available at both Bozeman Collective Elevation locations (2230 West Main St and 1008 N 7th Ave).
We’ve also partnered with United Cannabis to create a Cottonwood Chronic COTrue vape cart. The COTrue extraction process is known for producing extremely pure and safe cannabis concentrates. It doesn't require the use of potentially harmful solvents, making it a cleaner and safer option for consumers. CO2 is a naturally occurring gas and is considered environmentally friendly compared to some solvents used in solventless extraction. The use of CO2 results in a lower carbon footprint and reduced environmental impact.
We hope that this partnership will help support Cottonwood’s mission and further their efforts toward protecting Montana’s environmental resources.
