Pioneering Cannabis Cartridges
We’ve been incredibly excited to partner with United Cannabis to provide living soil sun grown cannabis inputs for their CO2 and COTrue vape cartridges.
United Cannabis’s hydrocarbon-free THC cannabis cartridges blend the power of nature to provide a clean and natural vape experience, and have set new industry standards for quality, taste, and purity. These cannabis vapes are made without any additives or harmful solvents, making them the cleanest, best tasting vape on the market.
United Manufacturing
United Cannabis products are produced utilizing supercritical Carbon Dioxide (CO2) instead of Butane or Ethanol for extraction of the terpenes and cannabinoids.
The CO2 United uses is exactly the same CO2 that is used for carbonating beverages at your local restaurants and breweries, it’s just a lot more at a much higher temperature than the average fast-food place.
At room temperature and pressure, CO2 is a gas and is essentially useless as a solvent. However, at higher pressures (>900 psi) CO2 liquifies and can be used as a solvent for extraction. Above 90F and 1100 psi, CO2 enters the supercritical phase which gives it properties of both a gas and liquid at the same time, which allows it to easily fill the voids of a pressure vessel filled with biomass like a gas and act as a solvent like a liquid. This makes it an ideal solvent for extracting botanical oils of different weights.
When the extraction is done, any CO2 left in the extracted oil evaporates off like a soda going flat when it is left out.
Purity and Safety: CO2 extraction is known for producing extremely pure and safe cannabis concentrates. It doesn't require the use of potentially harmful solvents, making it a cleaner and safer option for consumers. Solventless extraction, on the other hand, involves mechanical processes that can introduce impurities or contaminants.
Consistency: CO2 extraction allows for precise control over the extraction process, resulting in consistent product quality from batch to batch. Solventless extraction methods can be more variable, as they may depend on factors like the starting material's moisture content and genetics.
Customization: CO2 extraction can be fine-tuned to target specific cannabinoids and terpenes, allowing us to create custom formulations with desired profiles. This level of customization is challenging to achieve with solventless methods, which tend to capture a broader range of compounds.
Value: CO2 extraction is generally more efficient in terms of yield and speed compared to solventless methods. It can process larger quantities of cannabis material in a shorter amount of time. Say goodbye to the overpriced rosin carts.
Reduced Environmental Impact: CO2 is a naturally occurring gas and is considered environmentally friendly compared to some solvents used in solventless extraction. The use of CO2 results in a lower carbon footprint and reduced environmental impact.
Longer Shelf Life: CO2-extracted products typically have a longer shelf life due to the removal of water and potential contaminants during the extraction process. This ensures that consumers can enjoy
their products for an extended period without a noticeable decrease in quality.
COTrue Carts
To produce the COtrue carts, United starts with Collective Elevation’s premium organic living soil flower. Our flower is sustainably grown with in-house brewed compost tea and enriched with native microbes from locally-sourced organic inputs.
United takes Collective’s premium flower and, utilizing the selective capabilities of CO2 extraction, extracts just the terpenes from the flower and sets them aside.
After the terpenes are extracted from the flower, high pressure and temperature are used to extract the cannabinoids to produce a fatty full spectrum oil.
The excess fats and waxes are then removed from this full spectrum oil, decarboxylated, and then the original terpenes back are reintroduced into the decarboxylated oil to produce the COtrue oil, retaining all the flavor and cannabinoids with no harmful chemicals or additives.
